Maine School Guidance Counselor Pushes Gender On Kindergarten Students
Update to the story now includes Kimberly Raymond’s hyper-sexualized book list
Winterport, ME - This is an update to the story I exposed back in May about RSU22 in Winterport, ME pushing a woke “Welcome Week” on 5-8 year old students. This update includes the “book list” provided to the “Civil Rights Team” students prior to this woke nonsense being pushed, most likely without their parents knowing. This is a school where during the last true academic assessment, pre-Covid political theater, more than seven out of ten students were not proficient in math and nearly five out of ten students were not proficient in reading. But, they now all know their pronouns.

In April, school officials in Winterport, Maine led kindergartners and second-graders through programming based on controversial theories about race and gender. But it goes way deeper than just that. It's a perversion and they are obsessed with it. It is spiritually evil what is happening behind the brick walls of your local school. This little Maine town of about 4,000 residents is not any different than your local public, government run school. This is happening everywhere.
Leroy H. Smith School (LHSS) is part of Maine’s RSU22 district, which encompasses the towns of Hampden, Newburgh, Frankfort and Winterport. According to documents and RSU22 employee insight obtained by Maine Source Of Truth, the school asked pre-K students and kindergarteners to prepare artwork celebrating "gender.” Officials also asked second-graders to prepare art celebrating "race & skin color.” The school displayed this student art in its hallways. What lovely propaganda created by our youth.
LHSS Kindergarten Teacher Hannah Hotham and School Guidance Counselor Kimberly Raymond developed this curriculum. She is the wife of RSU22 superintendent Nick Raymond and she was the “Maine School Counselor of the Year” in 2021. One of the reasons she was selected for the award was based on, “...promot(ing) access and equity for all students…” as noted in the Link-22 February, 2021 newsletter. “Equity” is, of course, just another term for “Marxism.” It is also stated by LHSS Principal Dawn Moore that, “(Kimberly Raymond) is more than a school counselor, she is a change agent.”
Back on June 16th, 2022 as I was working on the original story, I asked for the book list that I had seen in some email exchanges. RSU22 of course, due to their constant lack of transparency wouldn’t provide it to me. Undeterred, I used Maine’s Freedom Of Access Act (FOAA) as leverage and finally received this information over three months later on September 21st, 2023.
This is the list of books that Kimberly Raymond pushed on 5-8 year old students to read prior to her woke “Welcome Week.”
BookLooks.org, a trusted site which does your homework for you on these sexualized materials rated many of these books 1 out of 5. “Some content may not be appropriate for very young children.” But, this taxpayer paid far-left radical activist checked them out to push on five to eight year olds to read anyway.
Note sent to woke Welcome Week conspirator LHSS Librarian Brittany Harrington (married a Bucksport Police Officer, now goes by Brirrany McCrillis) about pushing gender books on students.

These books are in LHSS overseen by the woke Librarian Britany McCrillis, who lives in Hampden, ME. Her official title is “K-8 Media Specialist” because “Political Activist” would be too on the nose. More than likely a Maine Library Association member, the offshoot of the “Marxist,” socialist, “lesbian” run American Library Association. She’s a Ruth Bader Ginsberg worshiper and a supporter of the far-left Scholastic Book Fair, which pushes trans-nonsense and gender ideology. It’s all a work to divorce the kids from the parents.
She’s also a “book ban” narrative whacko. We know the only people really banning books in Maine are librarians. She states in an April 23rd, 2022 Facebook post that “The truth is libraries are raucous club houses for free speech, controversy and community.” What she means by that is that libraries are no longer places for learning, they are places for far-left, democrat driven political havens run by taxpayer paid activists, like Brittany McCrillis. They are indoctrination centers and LGBTQ-cult havens.

Part of this above Pride book list pushed by Librarian Brittany McCrillis during “Pride Month” are also books checked out by Kimberly Raymond for their grooming event of five to eight year old kids, “aka” Welcome Week. Books on this list included Love Makes A Family, My Two Mommies and Me, Daddy, Papa, and Me, Teo’s Tutu, ABC Pride, Twas the Night Before Pride, I Am Jazz, Middle School’s a Drag, You Better Werk! (which we made famous on Fox’s Ingraham Angle, pushed by RSU22 “teacher” of the year, Kelsey Stoyanova on 11 year olds), Queer Power!, Beyond the Gender Binary. It’s insane that taxpayer paid librarians are pushing sex books on minors. This isn’t normal to push sexuality on children, but remember liberalism is a mental disease.
By RSU22 policy, the Superintendent, “or their designate” is supposed to sign off on all these books. When we spoke with two of the RSU22 principals, neither of them were aware of this policy. Generally speaking, librarians are “queering the catalog” and throwing out any books that are conservative in nature and bringing in this trash. They display trans books for minors and push the most disgusting porn books as a part of “Banned Books Week.” Based on Brittany McCrillis’ social media and from RSU22 employee accounts, she’s just another radical.
RSU22 doesn’t have a policy that provides a teacher, a librarian, or a school counselor the power to give politicized, sexualized books to children. A parent could possibly claim “Harassment” from Kimberly Raymond toward their child for pushing this type of material. It could certainly be seen that forcing sexualized content on minors would fall under the policy Staff Conduct With Students under “sexual remarks,” depending on what was said as she handed the minor students these books and for keeping this process a “secret” from parents and done in an “overly familiar manner.” But, let’s face it, the wife of the superintendent will never receive any discipline, only praise. Celebration. Most likely a healthy taxpayer funded pay raise.
Where in years past students would be receiving books to instill learning, it is now an unspoken norm that they receive books to activate students into radicals. To question reality. To divide the family. My guess is that none of the parents of these Civil Rights Team students, who are again, ages five to eight, knew anything about these books being given to their children. No library system tracked this deception. Here is a breakdown of just some of the books that Kimberly Raymond provided students:
“Heather Has Two Mommies,” (also goes by “Heather Has Two Mummies) Lelsa Newman - Which contains alternative sexualities. This was checked out on February 28th, 2023. Why would School Guidance Counselor Kimberly Raymond be checking out books about student’s having two mommies, unless she planned on hyper-sexualizing them? To talk about their mother’s sex?
Why is it her business to push lesbian motherhood on children? Where are the books about it being normal to have a loving mother and a father in the family? The book is listed in the library catalog as subjects: Lesbians - Juvenile fiction, Lesbians - Fiction and Picture books for children.” Jeez.
Book checked out of RSU22’s Leroy H. Smith Elementary School in Winterport, ME by School Guidance Counselor Kimberly Raymond.
“Love Makes A Family,” by Sophie Beer, another book which contains illustrations of alternate gender ideologies and alternate sexualities, checked out by Kimberly Raymond on February 28th, 2023 and again on April 25th, 2023. I wonder who she gave it to the second time?
This book also provides a graphic cartoon of two men in bed, one who has breasts and a beard. That’s the narrative now being pushed in your local school, to five year olds, that a man can have a beard and boobs and it’s perfectly normal. It’s a mental illness and anyone enabling this behavior is a straight up groomer with a screw loose.
Another book checked out of Leroy H. Smith Elementary School in Winterport, ME by School Guidance Counselor Kimberly Raymond.
“IntersectionAllies: We Make Room For All,” by Chelsea Johnson. As stated on Amazon reviews, this book “is anti-religion, anti-police, and anti-family. It promotes community as opposed to family.” Another Amazon review, “It’s absolutely not for kids.” This was checked out on February 23rd, 2023 and again on April 11th, 2023 by Kimberly Raymond.
“Lucia the Luchadora, by Cynthia Leonor, which pushes negative relationships on gender and pits boys vs. girls. This was checked out on February 28th, 2023 and then again on May 3rd, 2023 by LHHS School Guidance Counselor Kimberly Raymond. One Amazon reviewer states, “Now my toddler girl says boys are rude and and refuses to play with them. She even quotes the book.” All according to plan.
As a side note, if you are five years old at Leroy H. Smith School in Winterport, ME you can also check out the book “This Is Our Rainbow,” by Katherine Locke and Nicole Melleby, which contains alternate sexualities; inexplicit sexual activities; inexplicit sexual nudity; mild profanity; alternate gender ideologies; and controversial social and racial commentary.
It is a book all about pronouns, queer, transgenderism, drag queens, patriarchy, privilege, transphobia, toxic masculinity, hangings, Gender and Sexuality Alliances (inside these very schools), safe spaces, LGBTQ+, breasts, lesbians, kissing, nonbinary and a bunch of other hyper-sexualized items that these groomers just love to push to your kids, with your tax dollars.
Dawn Moore, the LHSS Principal is also to blame, allowing this hyper-sexualized programming to occur in the building she runs with our tax dollars.
I tell Maine parents and parents all across the country all the time, you have no idea how bad it is inside these public K-12 schools. They are irreparably broken, unfixable at this point. They are run by taxpayer paid radicals. I beg you to pull your child out now, or risk their lives being taken by this trans-cultism, by this far-left political cabal.
If you can’t, you better damn well be digging in and fighting for your child’s education like their lives depend on it…because they do.
Rolling the dice everyday, hoping they come back home on the bus is thinking the odds are stacked in your favor. They are not. The house always wins. Parents lose.

Thanks for giving this craziness some more light! The fight against this needs to grow legs and parents need to wake up to what their kids are learning in school.
