#WayToCheatBro - Soren Stark-Chessa Bullies Girl Runners Again
Mike Burnam, Executive Director of the MPA lies and says, “Their hands are tied”
10/10/2023 (Real Women’s Day for those with X/X chromosomes)
October 7th, 2023 Twitter (X) post by Captain maulyhawk.
This abhorrent story will continue to unfold, but for the moment, let us focus on the girls being bullied by a young-man, Soren Stark-Chessa who just beat Cape Elizabeth senior runner Emma Young by over 2 minutes on her home course. Then, we will review how the Maine Principals Association (MPA) has allowed this to happen and what you need to do as a concerned parent and taxpayer to address it with immediate action. This will be detailed, so hang on tight!
Heartbreak For Female XC Athletes:
In the last regular season home meet of her entire high school career, Emma Young was beaten by a boy who was allowed by the MPA to run with the girls. Miss. Young pounded out 200 hours of training into this past summer to become the fastest girl in her area and one of the better cross country athletes in the State of Maine. Only to be pushed out of the way by a young-man, who is mediocre in boys' competition and has a far-left set of parents and a liberal elite private school backing him.
Emma Young was beaten by a discriminating trans-misogynist. He set a new course record for the “girls,” by bastardizing the prior time by over 30 seconds, set two years ago by Cape Elizabeth’s Lila Gaudreault. Her record was smashed by a dude. How brave of him. (Insert slow golf clap here.)
The MPA has allowed Soren Stark-Chessa, a boy, to bully girl runners.
Emma Young was interviewed before she got blown out of the water by this young man on October 5th, 2023 at Cape Elizabeth High School and stated per an interview done by MaineTrackXC, “Staying motivated goes back to reminding myself that I don't ‘have’ to run, I ‘get’ to run. There are a lot of people who would give anything to be able to do what I do. I also like to think of my team. They are putting in the work for me, so I'm going to get out there and put in the work for them.”
Derek Veilleux of MaineTrackXC doesn’t know the answer to, “What is a woman?”
One has to wonder how Miss. Young feels now, given that a young-man ripped her first place trophy out of her hands? Do her parents even care? She never really had a chance against him. She should clearly have been the fastest girl at this meet. In fact…she was! But she was beaten by a full two minutes, a lifetime in cross country running, by a XY chromosomed male.
Alexandra Noble is a Sophomore at Scarborough, ME High School. She had a different view on this past race, one in which she may decide to exit the sport altogether and I had the opportunity to speak with her about it today. “It isn’t fair that a biological male can compete with biological females. There are huge physical differences. It is almost near impossible for a biological female to train the same amount of time in the gym and on the road to be able to overcome or beat a biological male. There is almost no point in trying Dad,” as she emotionally stated to her father. Her dad isn’t too happy with this situation either and he’s one of only a few parents right now willing to make a statement.
Don Noble, Alexandra’s father says, “This is the first year she has competed in XC. During the first mile (of this most recent race) she twisted her ankle but continued to finish the race and we were so proud of her new personal record at the Festival of Champions. When we first started hearing about the boy who ran in the race we sat down to discuss it as a family and over time my daughter became frustrated and upset. She had to work really hard over the summer to get rid of her shin splints from last spring (track) and now had another obstacle to overcome.”
Ultimately Alexandra Noble’s frustration from her father’s perspective came from two questions that I’m going to paraphrase:
“Why work so hard in the gym, spending hours on the road, working on my pace, if a guy can just come over and with less effort be able to take so much from so many girls?”
“If a person wants to pretend to be something that is fine, but this is an athletic competition. Why are we ignoring the massive biological differences?”
So, who is to blame, besides Soren Stark-Chessa’s far-left parents, his woke athletic director, his discriminatory school and those others clapping like trained seals for this confused and quite possibly mentally ill young man who will be used up and discarded by the left? The blame keeps increasing the more we dig in.
Maine Principals Association (MPA) Denying Responsibility:
I wrote about this very subject of the Maine Principals Association (MPA) in detail just a few weeks ago documenting the Maine School Management Association’s DrummondWoodsum lawyers pushing this trans-cultism and forcing Maine school board members to comply, or fear individual reprisal. You see, this is all a cabal parents and the odds are stacked against you and your daughters and as you will find out, have been for over a decade. Your girls never stood a chance. It’s a man’s world. They are in control and they won’t give it up, until you take it back.
I would urge every parent who has a daughter trying to participate in women’s sports to email the MPA and call them voicing your displeasure at (207) 622-0217.
From their website, “The Maine Principals' Association has four elected officers: a president, president-elect, coordinator for the National Association of Secondary School Principals, and state representative for the National Association of Elementary School Principals. An executive director, who is appointed, serves as secretary and treasurer. Each division of the MPA has a Management Committee to manage its business affairs. Association members work actively on these standing committees.”
The MPA is run at the top by the President and current Principal of Nokomis Regional High School Mary Nadeau, and President-elect and current Principal of Cony Middle/High School, Kimberly Liscomb, who don’t create law, but take $2.00 per every Maine high school athlete as their “dues.”
Based on their 2021 IRS 990 form, The MPA received $529,531 in revenue, with $337,338 in “membership dues” from the 253 school districts, $68,417 in “government grants” and $123,776 in “other contributions.” They had total assets of $1,724,496 and revenues of $1,497,727, a large part of which is taxpayer paid dollars.
The MPA has two people making huge bank on the taxpayer payroll. Mike Burnham, Co-Executive Director, Treasurer and Secretary making $140,360 before benefits and Holly Blair, Co-Executive Director, making $131,970 before benefits. Not bad for running Maine’s school jock sniffing sports programs.
Mr. Burnham recently stated to a concerned parent of a female high school runner that he “would have to follow state law,” and “their hands are tied.” Both lies. We will break it all down below and you should not let him off the hook, as he is paid handsomely for his weakly worded response. He might actually have to work a bit this week, depending on how much pressure you put on him.
Katherine Collins, mother and advocate for track athletes, called Executive Director Mike Burnham of the MPA today and stated her reason for calling was that she wanted to discuss the MPA gender policy. Mr. Burnham cut her off and claimed that, “The policy had been rescinded 2 years ago and is now in the hands of the legislature.” This appears to mean that no law exists and anything goes when it comes to gender and high school sports? A weak answer, at best.
Mr. Burnham then took great offense at Ms. Collins’ statement that, “A boy is pretending to be a girl" and he stated that if she had a problem with this then “She should contact her legislators.” This is of course hilarious, because our GOP legislators like Senator Stacey Guerin (RINO) and ex-House Minority Leader Jeff Timberlake (RINO) have a history of saying that stuff like this happening in your schools is a “local issue.”
When Ms. Collins said that, “This boy had run as a boy last year and that all he had done was grow his hair out,” Mr. Burnham cut her off and stated "This conversation is over!" and hung up on her. What an absolute douche.
So, let’s help Mike Burnham of the MPA remember what his own policies and practices currently state. Seems like he’s been on a taxpayer paid vacation for quite some time?
The Failed MPA Policies and Ambiguous Law:
When reviewing the MPA “2022-2023 Handbook,” you’ll see that the word “gender” is used a whopping 48 times in the 49 total pages. There is actually a super-woke group within the MPA which formed a “Gender Identity Committee” who use the new world order’s World Professionals Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) standards of care. This committee literally approves of young-men like Soren Stark-Chessa to bully girls. The MPA has been working on this lie, this fantasyland since 2013, a decade ago!
The MPA is today on 10/10/23 (X/X), Real Women’s Day, now claiming that after two years, their handbook is out of date and needs to be aligned with LD1688, “An Act To Improve Consistency within the Maine Human Rights Act, sponsored by leftist Maine democrats Hickman, Talbot Ross, Carney, Sanborn, Vitelli, Dunphy and Harnett. So, for over two years Mr. Burnham, you were what, asleep at the wheel and only through public pressure did you cave to realize your policy was incorrect? You suck at your job bro.
LD1688 only states the obvious and what no one is arguing, which is that you can’t “deny a person equal opportunity in athletic programs.” No one is saying that Mr. Stark-Chessa can’t run. However, this doesn’t mean you have to allow this young-man to crush the hopes and dreams of hundreds of girl cross country runners. You just need to “run what you brung” when you were born. There are two sports categories for a reason and this egregious decision by the MPA is literally making girls cry.
Vivek Ramaswamy, Republican presidential candidate who I had the pleasure of interviewing a few months ago stated today on Twitter (X), “There are two sexes. If you have XX chromosomes, you’re a woman. If you have XY chromosomes, you’re a man. Period. Gender dysphoria is a mental health disorder. Affirming a kid’s confusion isn’t compassion. It’s cruelty. That’s the TRUTH.” We love the Truth around here and he is 100% spot on. XX, or XY, it’s just science. These Maine schools said to parents for years, “follow the science.” So, why not now? Because the schools are more afraid of Soren Stark-Chessa’s parents, than you. That has to change.
All those enabling Soren Stark-Chessa are child-abusers.
The Maine Coast Waldorf High School and Athletic Director Susan Sonntag (she/her) would have had to submit a request to the MPA Gender Identity Committee to consider the request from Soren Stark-Chessa's parents that he be treated as a Male To Female (MTF) transsexual. The MPA would then have had to approve this request. Thus, Mike Burnham and the MPA are on the hook. The MPA is where blame, shame and the spotlight should be shined.
MPA procedure adopted in March 2013 is listed on page 24 of their handbook.
The spotlight on Mike Burnham of the MPA should be white hot, like sweaty chicken nuggets roasting under a heat lamp.
As I reported weeks ago pulling from the MPA 2022-2023 handbook, which only today is hastily being revised by the MPA Board of Directors, “M. A student is eligible to compete on a single sex team only if he or she is a member of that sex, either as reflected on his or her birth certificate or, in the case of a transgender student, as approved in accordance with Article II, Section 12.”
The MPA uses the terms, “sex,” which is reality and “gender” which is a false social construct back and forth in their publication, further confusing things. If they just stayed with “sex” being used as the determining factor, they would be fine and would have become a reality based solution. Or, XX and XY.
The MPA is now claiming that portions of the 2022/2023 handbook have been out of date for over two years.
Section 12 - Gender Equity and Inclusion Policy - “Consistent with its principles, the MPA believes that all students should have the opportunity to participate in MPA activities in a manner that is consistent with their gender identity, unless such participation would result in an unfair athletic advantage or would present an unacceptable risk of injury to other student athletes.”
“...unless such participation would result in an unfair athletic advantage...”
This is where you as a parent of a female athlete call out the MPA publicly. Before your daughter is beat out on the podium by a weak male. What are you going to say to your daughter when she finishes behind a more dominant guy? “Try harder next time?” Don’t let the MPA off the hook for this statement. Make them defend it with science specific to Soren Stark-Chessa. They won’t comply, but it will be a fun conversation.
Katherine Collins stated before her Fox News interview last week, “How the athletic directors, coaches, and the MPA think that it is fair to women to allow this boy to take away their awards, their recognition, and their potential scholarships is beyond me. The top female nationally in high school XC would be 6th among Maine boys, which is not a pool of amazing athletes.”
“There are simple reasons that men and women compete in different categories. If all athletes were lumped together in one pool, the boys would play and the girls would sit at home. Title IX came into existence to give girls and women the opportunity to compete and not be pushed to the side. However, this current obsession with transgender children forcing their way onto women's sports teams and into women's spaces such as locker rooms and bathrooms, has led to girls being pushed off the sports field and being made unsafe. Men do not belong on women's sports teams. It is not fair, it is not right, and it is not acceptable,” Ms. Collins said.
Teagan Ewings, a young woman from Houlton, ME recently defended her younger sister on Fox and Friends, who is the second placed female XC runner in the State of Maine. She didn’t even know about this until they were half way through the day, just before her sister’s race. The family found out Soren Stark-Chessa would be competing against her sister. They just want a level playing field for the girls. Teagan also referenced that the MPA had an “emergency meeting” this past week after this situation went global. I’ll take some credit for that. Outstanding!
#SaveWomensSports Advocate Riley Gaines on Twitter (X) on 10/2/2023 has helped push this story big time!
Over nearly ten years, without providing details as to the last two years, the MPA has had a reported 52 boys pretend they can be girls and only 4 girls pretend they can be boys. Or, as Riley Gaines stated in her recent tweet, almost all these situations are where young men take Title IX opportunities from rightful female athletes. Because these young men can’t hack it with their peers. They are weak males.
Failed Maine Legislative Action:
LD930 was a bill put forth last session in the Maine House by Lebanon Republican Jeffrey Sean Adams.
Let me give you some background on this State of Maine. My home state is now the “California of the East Coast.” It’s a locked down blue state, run by far-left, liberal, government paid activists called democrats. Governor Janet Mills is the worst governor we’ve ever seen in our history. She’s ruined an entire generation of our youth and looks to personally profit from our state before she’s done in 2027.
The Maine house, senate and district attorney’s office are all dominated by liberal democrats. We have one of the highest overall tax rates in the country and liberal policies have created more vagrant homeless, drug infested public parks, trans-abortionism, the ability to give chemical castration drugs to 16 year olds without parental permission and massive illegal immigrant issues, to just name a few.
Along with the worst academic assessments in Maine’s history.
In Maine’s public K-12 schools, run by the Janet Mills’ government and Commissioner Pender Makin at the Maine Department of Education we have seen historical lows in education. Only about one third of all Maine K-12 students can read at proficiency and only about one quarter can perform math at proficiency. The worst scores ever, with the highest tax burden ever.
Knowing this history may help you to understand what we are up against and how to influence other track parents, should more choose to remain ignorant to the issues at hand with trying to #SaveWomensSports and exposing the #WayToCheatBro movement here in Maine.
LD930 was a bill put forth last session in the Maine House by Lebanon Republican Jeffrey Sean Adams to stop this very situation from occurring. His bill was drafted as such: “Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows: Sec. 1. 20-A MRSA §13 is enacted to read: Participation in female interscholastic or intramural sports. Only a student of the female gender may join or participate in an interscholastic or intramural athletic team, or sports activity that is sponsored by an elementary or secondary school, or postsecondary institution and is designated for ‘females,’ ‘women,’ or ‘girls."
“SUMMARY This bill prohibits any student from joining or participating in an interscholastic or intramural athletic team or sports activity sponsored by an elementary or secondary school or postsecondary institution that is designated for ‘females,’ ‘women,’ or ‘girls’ except for students of the female gender.” In speaking with Representative Adams, he stated he, “...would be putting forth a similar bill next session” and this next time, it will be based on sex, not gender.
Who’s Against Protecting Female Athletes?:
Chris McLaughlin, Hermon ME School Board Vice Chair and Director of the National Association of Social Workers, Maine, who’s favorite book is “Gender Queer” and who wants to keep secrets from your children even if they want to kill themselves and who wants to discuss “taboo subjects” behind closed doors, was of course, all for defending the trans-cultists in speaking out against this bill.
Mr. McLaughlin states, “We (NASW-ME) are in firm opposition to LD 930. The debate around whether transgender girls (individuals who were assigned male at birth but identify as female) should be allowed to compete in female sports is complex and involves a range of ethical, medical, and legal considerations. We applaud the very recent efforts from the Biden-Harris Administration for proposing new draft regulations for the Title IX Athletics Rule, which would have no restrictions on trans kids playing with their friends from ages K-8, and that overall bans on trans youth sports participation are unlawful at all ages. While schools could potentially limit trans youth participation in high school sports, there would be numerous legal obstacles to doing so. Under these proposed regulations, states could not completely ban young people from sports based on their trans identity.”
Spoken like a true groomer.
Victoria Wallack, the unhinged Director of Communications and Government Affairs at the Maine School Management Association, put in her psychotic comments as well, “Our associations oppose (LD 930) because (it) discriminate(s) against our students who identify as a different gender than what they were at birth. Public schools are obligated to make all students feel safe and welcome when they are in our care, and we believe that extends to allowing those that identify as a different sex be allowed to participate in school athletics based on that identity.”
Yes, you read that correctly, Ms. Wallack believes that your child is their student, just like the rotting bag of oatmeal brains, Joe Biden does. I’m not shocked at all, this is all coming from the same playbook.
Michael Bisson, Assistant Executive Director of the MPA, also opposed LD930. He stated in a letter to the Judiciary Committee on May 15th, 2023, “...with its principles, the MPA believes that all students should have the opportunity to participate in MPA activities in a manner that is consistent with their gender identity, unless such participation would result in an unfair athletic advantage or would present an unacceptable risk of injury to other student athletes.” Geez, that’s almost straight out of their 2022/23 policy!? That’s so weird!
Mr. Bisson goes on with his double speak, “In 2021 the Maine Legislature amended the Maine Human Rights Act to add “gender identity” as a protected status for which educational institutions cannot discriminate with respect to school athletic participation. With this amendment the MPA removed the Gender Identity Policy and has since advised schools to follow Chapter 337, Subchapter 5-B of the Maine Human Rights Act in allowing transgender participation (in) high school athletics consistent with their gender identity. LD 930 would force schools to violate the Maine Human Rights Act and Title IX by requiring that they discriminate against transgender student athletes based on their gender identity. The MPA urges the Committee to vote Ought Not to Pass on LD 930.”
He is, of course, full of shit and the only way this changes is if parents either 1) pressure the MPA to make changes, or 2) sue the MPA for Title IX violations. Because you can’t not discriminate against the girls, by not, not discriminating against the boy. Any critical thinker can see this! (Yes, it makes sense.)
Legal babble on the Maine Human Rights law:
§4601. Right to freedom from discrimination in education

B. Deny a person equal opportunity in athletic programs; [PL 1983, c. 578, §3 (NEW).]
4. Unlawful education discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation.
[PL 2021, c. 366, §19 (RP).]
5. Application. Nothing in this section:

D. Requires an educational institution to participate in or endorse any religious beliefs or practices; to the extent that an educational institution permits religious expression, it cannot discriminate between religions in so doing.
§4603. Rulemaking
The Commissioner of Education (Pender Makin) shall have joint rule-making authority with the commission to effectuate this subchapter.
§4604. Enforcement

1. Notification of results of preliminary investigations. The Commissioner of Education (Pender Makin) shall be informed of the results of preliminary investigations into complaints of unlawful educational discrimination concerning public schools and programs and private schools approved for tuition purposes.
[PL 1989, c. 700, Pt. A, §18 (AMD).]
2. Notification of findings of unlawful educational discrimination; informal conciliation efforts. The Commissioner of Education (Pender Makin) shall be informed of any finding that unlawful educational discrimination has occurred in a public school or program or a private school or program approved for tuition purposes. The commissioner may participate in informal conciliation efforts made pursuant to section 4612, subsection 3 and shall, upon request, have access to all information concerning these conciliation efforts.
If this is the case, the “buck stops” with Pender Makin, Commissioner of the Maine Department of Education (MDOE), as elected to her office by Democrat Governor, Janet Mills. As you can see, elections have consequences, folks.
As far as I know, the MDOE can’t enforce anything, as they don’t have legal authority to do so. Also, for reviewing all that garbage above, no one is denying young Mr. Stark-Chessa from competing in athletics. He should just compete with dudes.
For now, I would focus your efforts squarely on the MPA, because they approved this situation via their Gender Identity Committee ruling allowing him to run. They are the first priority for you to light up.
LD 903 was killed in committee, by democrats. Democrats hate your daughters.
Cheaters Gonna Cheat:
Maine 2023 Class C State XC Championship will be held in Belfast, ME on Saturday, 10/28/23 at the public, taxpayer funded Troy Howard Middle School XC Course. Soren has a very decent chance to dominate and break records and take places from deserving girls. Maybe your daughter? Maybe someone’s daughter who has trained for years and years?
Concerned parents on all sides of the political spectrum should show up big and let their voices be “louder” when Soren Stark-Chessa runs ahead of deserving girls. I’d advocate booing the hell out of him. Or, just yell, “Way to cheat bro!”
I get it, that is not “kind” in today’s world, but without audible feedback based in reality, nothing changes. The kid is emboldened to continue crushing the girls. The more you clap for him, the more he knows he’s untouchable. The better he does, the more weak males come over to dominate your daughters. There has to be a line drawn. I will never advocate physical violence, but booing him, game on.
For now, I encourage you to take the higher ground and filter that energy toward making an actual difference. This is your call to action, please! This is a “pay me now, or pay me later,” kinda situation. Reach out to the MPA and email Mike Burnham, Co-Executive Director, Treasurer and Secretary, mburnham@mpa.cc, or give him a call and voice your displeasure at (207) 622-0217.
He will love the taxpayers, his bosses, giving him feedback on his cushy job.
Express to him your disdain for allowing a boy to dominate female sports. Will this make an impact? We can't be sure, but the mission is to get the MPA to revoke this boy’s status and solve for the root cause of the problem. Rather than causing more pain to a kid who is already clearly in distress and being abused. If he gets to run the October 28th, 2023 State Class C Title 5k race in Belfast, ME let the booing reign down upon him like trumpets from heaven. I plan on being right there with you. I may even have a surprise guest or two with me!
We hope to make you aware of some more action leading up to this state championship race, so please follow me on Twitter (X) for all the latest information. It is time to #SpeakLouder as Riley Gaines stated during our podcast together discussing this very issue. If you missed it last update, here is the link again, just press play!:

On Monday, October 9th, Columbus Day, I requested a written stance on this issue via email from MPA Executive Director, Mike Burnham. I also left Mr. Burnham a voicemail today asking for him to call me back. At the time of this article being published, Mr. Burnham did not respond to comment, because he’s a chump. I hope you shed light on the MPA being the focal point of this issue. I implore you to use the information above to send them a stern email and make a phone call(s) to their office. Lite them up!
Susan Ray, Athletics Director for Cape Elizabeth High School did not return my voicemail for her view of Emma Young being beaten by a boy on their home course and the new course record he set.
I also reached out to the Athletic Director of Bonny Eagle High School, Eric Curtis, where their sophomore runner, Marina Violette is now ranked second behind Soren Stark-Chessa and asked him for comment. At the time of publication, Eric Curtis had not called me back. They love me at Bonny Eagle.

Great work Shawn! This is criminal.
I’m OK with Soren identifying any way he/she may want but competing against God assigned girls in the field of sports is ridiculous. I wonder how he really feels about it?
