“LD 227 is a full frontal assault on the sanctity of life”
Maine Democrats push “gender affirming care” and “reproductive health care” as a legal right
Not just a few weeks ago, Maine celebrated a huge win for parental rights all over the country, when the radical LD1735, better known as the “trans-trafficking bill” was defeated in committee 12-0. Little did we know an even worse alternative would be on the horizon called LD227 put forth by Representative Anne C. Perry, Democrat of the Calais, ME region.
Her bill is thinly labeled as “An Act Regarding Health Care in the State.” They frame this 21 page bill provided only days before the committee hearing as the “Legal right to gender-affirming health care services and reproductive health care services.” It should be labeled, “Maine democrats want to surgically mutilate your children and murder babies and make sure no one can be held accountable for it.” There are action steps at the end of this article for you to push back against this madness.
LD227 is much worse than LD1735.
I’ll be honest, the more I read through this gobbledygook of her bill, the more it is concerning to me, but I don’t have all the insight and answers as feedback is still evolving. There seems to be language in this bill proposal which won’t allow “interference with legally protected health care.” Which in my mind means carving out unaccepting parents who don't want their child cut up on a table.
Minors can also consent to anything regarding gender-affirmed care, or abortion on their own as this bill provides no limitations. It also seems that it would allow parents, or adults, to bring children to Maine for gender transition even if the child themselves don’t want it! In other words it appears that people can trans-traffic minors into Maine. The democrats first bill didn’t achieve their goals, now here is another, more sinister version.
There are also a lot of protections in this bill for those participating in the evils. Catholic hospitals could be required to have these morally objectionable services. Insurance companies can’t deny coverage to cut a young man’s penis off. It should not be a “legal right” to cut your breasts off as a young woman, no more than a legal right to cut your arm off. We The People will most likely cover this entire bill through MaineCare.
There appears to be a spot in this bill for those groups out there like the taxpayer funded Out Maine, MaineTransNet and Planned Parenthood to “aid and assist” with pushing patients into this insanity. The people receiving “care” can apply to be hidden from the world and that person can be an adult acting on behalf of an incapacitated person. Yes, an incapacitated person! The language seems completely insane inside this bill.
There are layers of protection for wrongful death and malpractice suits from other states to protect medical practitioners willing to do this butchery of healthy body parts and babies. Why would the State of Maine democrats be so willing to protect against litigation, if this was an actual bill imposed to help people? Because, it obviously is very harmful and even democrats can see the legal writing on the wall.
Anyone looking to sue the party aiding and assisting in this process would be deemed by the State of Maine to be a “hostile” litigator. That person could seek punitive damages against parents who don’t want their child to be part of this madness. You can’t even take action on medical liability for 5 years so they avoid the consequences of when young people realize the errors after cutting their healthy body parts off. Or, killing their baby because they were pressured to do so.
It keeps law enforcement prohibited from investigating these activities. The bill would prohibit those assisting to even give testimony in a trafficking case, or issuing a warrant against the trafficker. It protects schools, clinics and providers from litigation, making Maine a safe haven from prosecution. It makes Maine a taxpayer funded sanctuary state for bad doctors. What is inside this bill is absolutely morally corrupt. That is what Maine democrats are all about.
Fact is, we know there is no such thing as “gender-affirming health care,” only chemical castration and medical butchery, done on minors. The term “reproductive health care services” is simply the democrat name for abortion and baby murder.
There are only bad choices forced upon children whose frontal lobes of their brains are not yet fully formed to make these types of life-altering decisions. Only medical malpractice in the form of permanent chemical castration drugs, already legal in Maine for sixteen year olds to obtain without parental permission. Only mutilation surgeries, cutting off healthy body parts, happening in Portland, ME at MaineHealth’s Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital. Only the disintegration of families ripped apart by the LGBTQ-cult.
In the very recent American College of Pediatricians “Best for Children” position summary which came out in February, 2024, they clearly state that countries have rejected “so-called gender-affirming care” and “There is no evidence-based proof that so-called ‘gender affirming’ therapy is affirming to the health of gender incongruent youth. The clear issue is an underlying mental health issue.

The Heritage Foundation published a piece way back in 2018 labeled, “Sex Reassignment Doesn’t Work. Here Is The Evidence.” The most thorough follow-up of sex-reassigned people, extending over 30 years and conducted in Sweden, where the culture is strongly supportive of the transgendered, documents their lifelong mental unrest.
The article goes on to state, “Ten to 15 years after surgical reassignment, the suicide rate of those who had undergone sex-reassignment surgery rose to 20 times that of comparable peers…because sex change is physically impossible, it frequently does not provide the long-term wholeness and happiness that people seek.”
“Trans” bills such as this never address the underlying cause of a person’s sexual trauma, physical violence, rape, incest, abuse, brainwashing, or whatever the underlying cause of their mental health issues are. Taking drugs that will only impact a young person’s mental and physical growth and cutting up the body does not fix the brain. But democrats don’t care about the whole person, just the power and the cash.
Although my wheelhouse is exposing the horrors of K-12 public education, there are times where we see bleed over into the school children because of bills just like this. I’m not going to pretend to be a bill reading savant, or a legal wizard, but by all accounts, there is nothing on this 21 page bill that seems to be a good thing. I’ll defer to others regarding clearer stances on abortion, but Maine has become one of the worst places in the country for killing preterm babies. Because of democrats like Anne Perry.
What Perry and her band of evil democrats want to do is rip apart the morality and American family values and they want to make your child a ward of the state for life. They want to normalize abhorrent behavior. They want to make sure the Big Pharma and Big Medical machines are able to pay them back for the millions and millions of dollars to be made on drug deals and fake surgeries.

From her legislative bio page, “Rep. Anne Perry is a retired family nurse practitioner who worked at Calais Regional Medical Services. She is serving her eighth non-consecutive term in the House, where she is currently the chair of the Health Coverage, Insurance and Financial Services Committee.” She’s the chair of the committee she is looking to slide this bill into. Interesting.
“Rep. Perry previously served in the Maine Legislature from 2003-2010, and was House chair of the Joint Standing Committees on Insurance and Financial Services and Health and Human Services. She is a member of the St. Croix Area Rotary Club, a board member of Northern Light Health Systems, a board member of the Regional Medical Center at Lubec and a past president of the Maine Nurse Practitioner Association.”
“Rep. Perry holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Southern Maine and a master’s in nursing from Husson University.” Her bio fails to mention she is pure evil, as most of these far-left, progressive democrats are.
Representative Katrina Smith (R - Palermo) has strong comments on this proposed bill. “LD 227 allows doctors to feel legally immune for the actions they will take when they perform Frankenstein surgeries or abortions on ANYONE coming to Maine for such procedures. Protecting medical providers at all costs, no matter the consequences to the patient, is the mantra of this bill. This bill unequivocally accepts that transitioning and abortion are the ultimate standard of care for those faced with dysphoria or an unplanned pregnancy and makes Maine legally disregard the suffering these patients will endure.”
Representative Reagan Paul (R - Winterport) also has powerful comments on the proposed legislative action. “LD 227 is a full frontal assault on the sanctity of life and parental rights. Its goal is to make Maine a sanctuary state for child mutilation and abortion until birth and shelter those healthcare providers who do irreparable harm.”

So, what can people do to speak out on this bill? You have to find a way to share this story with as many people as you can. Text it to your contact list on your phone. Post it on social media. Speak to it in your church services. But you have to do something, because Maine has become a liberal wasteland. We are losing our state and without massive pushback, you may lose your child, or a loved one.

Those trans-supremacists who think that not allowing this bill to pass is somehow hateful against trans people are dead wrong. It's called righteous abhorrence of evil, not hate. This bill proposed by Anne Perry is pure evil.
Great post. I totally agree. And it is telling that if we hold the position of protecting children against these abominable chemical treatments directed to vulnerable children, we are called transphobic.
